The Town of Haughton has rescinded the system-wide boil advisory. State testing results have been received and confirm that all required testing criteria are within normal limits. Customers may resume normal water use at this time. At approximately 4:30 p.m. today, the Town of Haughton water system experienced a main water line break on one of our transmission lines. This incident caused a system-wide loss of pressure and water service interruptions for some customers. The break has been isolated, and the system is currently recovering. Water pressure should begin returning shortly. Crews are working to complete the repair, which is expected to take approximately 3 hours (midnight). As a result of the temporary pressure loss, a system-wide boil advisory is now in effect for Town of Haughton water customers. This advisory is being issued as a precautionary measure in accordance with standard water system safety procedures whenever a system-wide pressure loss occurs.
