Patrol
The Patrol Division is tasked with the responsibility of responding to calls for service, as well as remaining pro-active and resolving problems utilizing community policing concepts. The 24-hour operation is structured into two 12-hour shifts that provide the town wide coverage for a community of approximately 4,000 citizens.

Training
Continuing education is vital in the role of a police officer as changes occur rapidly and consistently. The Haughton Police Department strives to meet these changes as they occur by providing the very latest training to our officers by way of in-service training. The Haughton Police Officers are required by law to complete 20 hours annually of in-service training.

Vacation Watch
The Haughton Police Department has a Vacation Watch Program for the citizens of the Town of Haughton. When planning to be away from your home for any length of time, the police department will make frequent patrols by your residence and will check on your home during your time away. Click here to download the form. Bring the completed form to the Haughton Police Department between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm (Monday thru Friday).

Due to the growth of the Town of Haughton we would like to inform the public on the safest and the best way to contact the Haughton Police Department.   1)      Anything that is not an immediate emergency, please call 318-965-2203, anytime day or night to report any issue. The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office dispatches for HPD. 2)       If it is an emergency, please call 911. These 2 numbers are the best way to get in touch with an HPD officer that is on duty. 3)      To get a copy of a police report, have fingerprints done or leave a message for an officer, you can call 318-949-6666 to speak to a clerk, Monday-Friday, 08:30-4pm.    Please understand that by calling an officer directly will increase the response time because the officer may have to call someone else if the officer is not on duty. We want to be able to provide the best response time to all of our citizens so we ask that you please use the numbers listed above to better serve our community.     Everyone stay safe, alert, lock your doors and report any suspicious activity immediately.
Thank you,
Todd Gibson Haughton Police Chief
